"Ray of Hope" - The Jason Ray Story | E:60
Awards: 2008 Emmy Award Nomination: Outstanding Long Feature

In October 2007, ESPN launched the premier of its new magazine show E:60. Airing in this first episode was the touching story of Jason Ray, a UNC Senior and team mascot, who tragically lost his life in New Jersey during the NCAA men's basketball tournament. This is the story of Jason Ray's selfless act of generosity, his parents, and those who benefited most from his invaluable gift of organ donation.

Since originally airing, this feature has been spotlighted on Oprah and Good Morning America and, according to David Flemming, president of Donate Life America, the online version of the story alone has been responsible for over 80,000 new organ donors, helping potentially save the lives of over 200,000 people.
